LEGACY 300: THE UNIQUE ATHLETE PURPOSE PLATFORM
Est: 2012
Legacy 300 is a project designed to support good causes and athletes through the delivery of VIP experience days, where people get to participate in sporting action and socially interact with sports stars.
London 2012 Olympic venues: Velodrome; White Water and Rowing deliver experience days generating charity revenues and facility fees.
There has been no cost to charity, with the vast majority of donations generated through charity auctions at gala dinners but also through corporate CSR engagements.
As of March 2021:
- €587,000 had been raised in donations to charity.
- €174,000 in facility fees for Olympic venues.
- €167,000 had been generated in Athlete fees
ATHLETE PURPOSE IN A POST COVID-19 WORLD:
The last few months have illustrated the enhanced value of purpose and corporate social responsibility to companies and brands across the world.
This has also heightened the desire for athletes to do good, and the vast majority have done their own independent activities to help fundraise or increase awareness for issues affecting their communities.
All being played to a backdrop of significant financial pressures on corporates, and the need to create maximum impact from allocated resources.
There is an opportunity in a post COVID-19 world to provide a purpose platform, with maximising business support for good causes at its core to help create a better future.
